Sun Seeker Warranty FAQs

Select a question below for more information.

How do I submit a warranty claim?

Start by contacting the authorized Sun Seeker dealer where your recumbent was purchased, or another authorized Sun Seeker dealer who can inspect the product.

Warranty claims require dealer inspection and must be supported by proof of purchase. If the dealer determines that a warranty claim may be appropriate, they can work with Sun Seeker to submit the claim for review.

What documentation will I need?

Please be prepared to provide:

  • A receipt, bill of sale, or other appropriate proof of purchase
  • The recumbent serial number
  • Information about the problem you are experiencing

Additional information or photographs may be requested to help evaluate the claim.

Who is covered by the warranty?

The Sun Seeker Limited Warranty applies to the original owner of a new Sun Seeker recumbent purchased from a Sun Seeker dealer.

The warranty remains in effect only while the original owner retains ownership of the recumbent and is not transferable.

What is not covered?

The Sun Seeker Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Improper assembly
  • Improper maintenance
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the recumbent as sold
  • Damage or failure caused by accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect
  • Labor charges for part replacement or changeover
  • Paint or finish
Are normal wear items covered?

No. Normal wear and tear is not covered by the warranty. Items such as tires and grips are specifically identified as wear items and are excluded from the one-year parts and components warranty.

Are labor charges covered?

No. The original owner is responsible for labor charges associated with the repair or replacement of warranty parts.

What if a replacement frame is no longer available?

If an equivalent replacement frame is not available at the time of an approved warranty claim, the consumer may be offered a complete bike at a discounted price.

What can void my warranty?

Damage or failure resulting from abuse, neglect, improper assembly, improper maintenance, alteration, collision, crash, misuse, or other non-standard use is not covered.

Activities such as trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain, riding in severe climates, carrying heavy loads, commercial activities unless specifically designed for such use, or similar non-standard use may damage the recumbent and may void warranty coverage.

Can I add a motor to a non-electric Sun Seeker recumbent?

Sun Seeker recumbents that were not originally designed and equipped with a motor are not designed, engineered, distributed, manufactured, or retailed to be motorized. Models that include a motor as part of their original design are excluded from this restriction.

How often should my recumbent be inspected?

Sun Seeker recommends periodic inspection by a Sun Seeker dealer for signs of stress or potential failure, including cracks, deformation, corrosion, paint peeling, dents, or other signs of damage, inappropriate use, or abuse.

What if my warranty claim is outside the United States?

Warranty claims made outside the United States may be subject to additional fees and restrictions.

Limited Warranty Does Not Cover

  • Improper assembly
  • Improper maintenance
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Installation of components, parts, or accessories not originally intended for or compatible with the recumbent as sold
  • Damage or failure due to accident, misuse, abuse, or neglect
  • Labor charges for part replacement or changeover

Additional Conditions

This Limited Warranty is made only to the original owner of this new Sun Seeker recumbent purchased from a Sun Seeker dealer, and it shall remain in force only as long as the original owner retains ownership of the Sun Seeker recumbent. This Limited Warranty is not transferable.

In order to exercise your rights under this Limited Warranty, the recumbent must be presented to a Sun Seeker dealer together with a receipt, bill of sale, or other appropriate written proof of purchase that identifies the recumbent by serial number.

Should this recumbent or any part be determined by Sun Seeker to be covered by this warranty, it will be repaired or replaced at the sole option of Sun Seeker, which will be conclusive and binding.

The original owner shall pay all labor charges connected with the repair or replacement of all parts. Claims made outside the USA may be subject to fees and additional restrictions.

This Limited Warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear or claimed defects, malfunctions, or failures that result from abuse, neglect, improper assembly, improper maintenance, alteration, collision, crash, or misuse.

This recumbent has not been designed, engineered, distributed, manufactured, or retailed to be equipped with a motor of any kind, except for models where a motor is included as part of the original design.

Trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain, riding in severe climates, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities except for models designed specifically for commercial use, or similar activities may damage the recumbent, may cause serious injury to the rider, and will void this warranty.

Useful Product Life Cycle

Every Sun Seeker recumbent has a useful product life cycle. The length of that useful product life cycle will vary with the construction and materials of the recumbent, the maintenance and care the recumbent receives over its useful product life cycle, and the type and amount of use to which the recumbent is subjected.

Use in competitive events, trick riding, ramp riding, jumping, aggressive riding, riding on severe terrain, riding in severe climates, riding with heavy loads, commercial activities, and other types of non-standard use can dramatically shorten the useful product life cycle of a Sun Seeker recumbent.

Any one or combination of these conditions may result in an unpredictable failure of a Sun Seeker recumbent that would not be covered by this warranty.

All Sun Seeker recumbents should be periodically checked by a Sun Seeker dealer for indicators of stress and/or potential failure, including cracks, deformation, corrosion, paint peeling, dents, and any other indicators of potential problems, inappropriate use, or abuse.

These are important safety checks and are very important in helping prevent accidents, bodily injury to the rider, and a shortened useful product life cycle of a Sun Seeker recumbent.

ALL OF THE REMEDIES AVAILABLE TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER ARE STATED HEREIN. IT IS AGREED THAT SUN SEEKER’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL BE NO GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL SUN SEEKER BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
